Training for Professionals

Because real people don't arrive like case studies.

Clients rarely present with one neatly defined issue.

ADHD can sit alongside trauma.

Autism can be mistaken for anxiety, avoidance or disengagement.

Relationship difficulties can become entangled with differences in communication, sensory experience and emotional regulation.

Domestic abuse may be present without ever being named.

And sometimes the thing a client initially brings to therapy isn't the thing we eventually find ourselves working with.

Professional training is designed for counsellors, therapists and other helping professionals who want to develop greater confidence working with that complexity.

Professional training & CPD

Working Therapeutically with ADHD & Autism

Moving beyond diagnostic criteria to consider what neurodivergence can mean inside the therapeutic relationship.

Explore masking, executive functioning, emotional regulation, sensory differences, communication, shame and the adaptations that may make conventional therapeutic approaches less accessible.

When Neurodivergence Shows Up in Couples Therapy

What happens when two people experience communication, emotion, demands, attention and connection very differently?

This training explores ADHD and autism within intimate relationships and considers how neurodivergence can become caught inside familiar cycles of conflict, withdrawal, criticism and misunderstanding.

Designed for counsellors and therapists working with couples or relationships.

Trauma Beyond the Textbook

Knowing what trauma is and sitting opposite someone whose nervous system is responding to threat are very different things.

Explore trauma, safety, regulation, attachment and therapeutic relationships with an emphasis on translating psychological understanding into clinical practice.

Domestic Abuse in the Therapy Room: Recognition, Risk & Response

Domestic abuse may enter the therapy room without being disclosed directly.

This training explores coercive control, patterns of abuse, psychological impact and some of the ways domestic abuse can present within individual and relationship work.

Particular attention is given to recognising concerns, responding appropriately, professional boundaries, risk and knowing when specialist domestic abuse services are required..

Neurodivergence, Trauma or Both?

Trauma and neurodivergence can sometimes produce overlapping presentations — including overwhelm, emotional dysregulation, difficulties with relationships, avoidance, shutdown and heightened sensitivity.

This reflective training explores that complexity without attempting to reduce clients to a single explanation or label.

Learning that stays connected to practice

Professional development shouldn't simply add another model to remember.

Sessions use case material, discussion, reflection and practical application to explore what the learning might actually mean when another human being is sitting in front of us.

Training is available online and face-to-face, with individual CPD workshops and bespoke sessions for counselling services, practitioner teams and organisations.

Bespoke Training

You may not need an off-the-shelf course.

Training can be adapted around you, your service, existing knowledge and the situations you actually encounters.

Sessions can include case studies, discussion and scenarios relevant to your setting.

Training is available online and face-to-face, from focused introductory sessions through to half-day, full-day and bespoke programmes.
